Print Deploy server version 1.9.2703
Important

PaperCut MF version 24 contains significant changes including internet connection requirements and licensing implications for all customers upgrading to version 24.

Please review Important points to know about PaperCut NG/MF version 24 before upgrading.

Enhancements:

  • Added a new table in the About > Registration page showing a list of active Application Servers using the same CRN. A ‘deactivate’ option allows admins to deactivate the Application Server remotely. This will release entitlements from the server and make them available for other active servers to claim. See Releasing all entitlements from an Application Server for more info. [PO-2508]
  • Introduced a new config key to control how SFPs consume MFD entitlements. The default behavior allows for SFPs to automatically claim any available MFD entitlements. To stop SFPs from automatically claiming available MFD entitlements, set the config key ‘subscriptions.sfp-entitlement-consumption.enabled’ = N. See SFPs and claiming entitlements for more info. [PO-2407]
  • Added a device brand breakdown table in the About > Registration page which will allow for better insight into which device brands are being used and licensed on the server. Note: After upgrading to 24.0.4, the license file will need to be uploaded again in order to display the license counts in the Brand breakdown table. See the screenshot on Managing entitlements for an example. [PO-2448]
  • Added Admin Rights to control access to the Enable Printing section, including Print Deploy, Mobility Print and Universal Print. Note, the “View connected clients and assign print queues” right is for a new Print Deploy feature that will be released in PaperCut MF version 24.1. [PD-2006]

Fixes:

  • License install improvements - various fixes relating to license installation and improved issue identification.

    • Detailed error messages in the Admin UI that describe various license issue scenarios where the CRN is invalid and internal system errors. [PO-2496, PO-2498]
  • Fixed an issue that was causing a page error to occur when pay stations were created. [PO-2548]

  • Fixed an issue that was incorrectly causing MF admin UI page access to be restricted when the number of devices used exceeded the allowable entitlement count. [PO-2578]

  • Fixed an issue that was erroneously reporting 0.0 MB free space available in the header of the PaperCut NG/MF Application Server log files. [PO-2095]

  • Fixed an issue for perpetual license customers, that was causing generic PaperCut support information to be displayed in the Help page, instead of the accredited reseller / partner contact details. A similar fix for subscription customers will be in a future maintenance release. [PO-2602]

  • Fixed an issue in the CSV version of the shared account security access report where only sub shared account pin codes were shown. Please note: A new column has been added called ‘shared-account-parent-code’ and the ‘code’ column has been renamed ‘shared-account-sub-code’. [PO-1793]

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4303 devices: Fixed an issue that prevented the serial number and toner information from being read from HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4303 devices. [PIE-782]

  • PDL transforms for Epson: Input tray and staple settings enabled for print jobs using the PaperCut Global PostScript printer driver are now properly handled by Epson devices. Thank you to Epson for implementing the PDL transform script. [PIE-770]
